This medal was awarded by Excellency of Marquess of Lansdowne-Viceroy of India (1888) to Wali Mohammad. On the edge of this medal it is written as “ SUBEDAR WALI MAHOMED 1892”.
The great grandfather of Sabra Khatoon was also awarded Delhi Darbar medal in 1903 for participation in the celebration of coronation, which was issued to commemorate Delhi Durbar where the new Emperor of India, Edward VII (Albert Edward) was proclaimed.
The great grandfather of Sabra Khatoon is also the recipient of the First class Order of British India (OBI) which is order of merit, awarded by Viceroy of India for long, faithful, and honourable service by Viceroy’s Commissioned (i.e. native Indian) Officers in the British Indian Army.
